About me
I am a practising artist and art educator. Trained to MA in Fine Art and I have worked as a secondary school art teacher in several schools in Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. My teaching has also been with adults in Adult education settings and private tuition.
My art practice concerns how our bodies are store houses of inscriptions and messages between our internal and external boundaries. Medical processes of removal and addition as well as cultural signs on the surface of the body and our living spaces all define our bodies.
Through my own personal health challenges of sudden Sensioneural hearing loss and a fracture to my T12 vertebrae of the spine. I have looked in dental at the structure of the bodies internal organs. The perpetual motion of each and the interrelationships between them fascinate me.
How our bodies exist as liminal spaces and transitional spaces.
The boundaries have an open and mutable; with moments of flow, acceleration and rupture.
